LOTRO will soon offer a Free-to-Play option!  You can read all about it here:

For anyone who has ever paid even one month for a subscription, you will be automatically upgraded to the Premium Member Status.

I saw this coming once DDO went f2p awhile back and did well. Unfortionately it makes the chances of me ever looking to LOTRO again pretty low. I do hope LOTRO does well though! Its the only Tolkien MMO we gots atm...  Undecided

I'm a big fan of pvp now so coming back to LOTRO would be a bad move for me i think. The fact that its f2p makes it even less appealing to me for some reason. I can't explain it lol

We just got a new puppy (boston terrier) so I think our chances of coming back to any games are on hold for now until the little guy grows up. I'm still playing a pvp sandbox MMO when I can but it seems I have less and less time to get ingame these days.

Well being free shouldn't stop you from logging on and saying wassup anyway.  If anything it could be good for some old school social interaction heh.

For people who pay monthly there will be literally NO change.  The change is that they are offering it F2P for people who are okay with having limited access to the game, which just means its free to play weekend all the time! Smiley

Hey Ethan! One thing I have read and heard is that PvMp is going to be restricted to a degree so if will not be too bad I dont think.

I am almost Rank 7 with Zarth.. I dont play a ton but here and there never hurts. Smiley
